I've got about 9 days off comming up for spring break and am planning on heading to north georgia to ride. Was wondering if anybody has been out to ride this area and if so had any helpful information as far as trails, names, etc....?

You should try to hit up Windrock, TN if you like DH.  They have some sick stuff there, arguably some of the best in the east.  You pretty much can't go wrong riding anywhere in north GA.  The 'hooch' National Forest is chock full of trails, kind of like the SNF, but fewer biker horse interactions from my experience and larger mountains.  Blue Ridge has some good stuff.  Another place to check out is Carter's Lake if you like DH, which is SE of Ellijay.  I've heard of good stuff closer to Ellijay as well, but I've never been there, I think one of the trails is called Mountaintown.

Forgot about Blankets Creek.  Not in the hooch, but closer to ATL.

Found this little cutey of a list of "best" trails in GA.  Don't know how much stock I'd put into it, but it's worth a look.

You can pick up the Pinhoti trail in Dalton, GA which is right on I-75.  We do the Snake Creek TT there...great trail system...good climbs, good descents and lots of rocks.

Check out: http://www.nwgasorba.org/the_snake.html

Also on the way check out Raccoon Mt. in Chattanooga...it is a real cool trail as well.
