Cedar Lake Trail Damage
The wind storms took their toll on our beloved Cedar Lake Trail. The major damage involves extensive blowdowns in the pines section on the east side of the lake. There are a good 40+ trees down across the trail. Brett, Ken, Joe and myself spent a good part of Saturday afternoon cutting and clearing some of the deadfall. We got through about 15 trees before calling it a day.
In the next couple weeks, we might be holding some "ad hoc" traildays during the afternoons and maybe some weekends. Please help out if you can. Only certified sawyers can operate a chainsaw, but there is plenty of swamping (tossing cut limbs) that needs to be done.
So, pay attention to the forum for updates and traildays. Click the "notify" button on the forum if you want to be emailed when someone responds to a trailday post.
We'll get that baby up and going soon, so hold tight and help out when you can.
