Welcome to the SMBA board
Re: Welcome to the SMBA board
It is directly south of Bald Knob Wilderness, near Jonesboro, off of 127, probably an hour or more S-SW of Benton.
Re: Welcome to the SMBA board
Got it.
Where is the trail head?
Earlier this year I tried to ride cedar lake from lirley, but clay lick creek was high. I drove to boat dock road and started from there.
Trail south from boat dock road disappeared after a creek crossing (cuz I don't know the trails), I turned around.
Your plan is to start around 5 - 5:15pm tomorrow, yes?
Maybe I'll drive down there earlier and check it out since I no longer have a job...

Re: Welcome to the SMBA board
Just riding gravel tomorrow (no trails). It is my go-to when trails are wet. Parking in the Main Day use area on South Forest Road about 5:15. https://www.dnr.illinois.gov/Parks/Docu ... arsMap.pdf
Check you pm's, I'll give you my #

Re: Welcome to the SMBA board
The night gravel ride at State Forest didn't go off as expected, but a "Good Time was had by One and All"...
And I mean that sincerely.
Thanks Matt.

The trail south from boat dock road cuts left (east) along the creek right after that second creek crossing. It looks like the trail was cleared recently (thanks guys!) and some sticks were thrown down at that intersection to help direct you.

Re: Welcome to the SMBA board
Thanks for the info about boat dock trail jaredh; not planning any riding until next month though.
